Background/ Experience: With over 20 years of experience in real estate development and finance, and his leadership on many of the largest and most successful development projects in the D.C. region, Ed is widely regarded as one of the city’s top real estate attorneys. He has a specialty in the development of large-scale, mixed use projects and public-private partnerships. Ed regularly advises real estate owners, developers, universities and colleges, museum operators and real estate investors on a wide range of projects, including office buildings, retail centers, museums, theaters, student facilities, residential and mixed-use developments.

Ed’s long list of successful projects includes many prominent D.C. landmarks such as the Newseum and Nationals Stadium. His current projects include the development of a 25 acre portion of the McMillan Reservoir site by Vision McMillan Partners (a joint venture of EYA, the Trammell Crow Company and Jair Lynch Development Partners), and the development of a multi-parcel mixed-use project along 6th Street, N.E. by Gallaudet University (through a joint venture with the JBG Companies).

Affiliations/ Community Involvement: Ed has served on the boards of the Washington Chapter of Lambda Alpha International and the Penn Quarter Neighborhood Association, and has served as board co-chair for the Washington, D.C. Economic Partnership and as co-chair of the Retail Business Development Committee of the Washington, D.C. Building Industry Association. Ed is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is a member of the D.C. and New York Bars.

Education: Ed earned his BA from the University of Virginia and his JD from the University of Virginia Law School.
